  • Does the Commission offer grants?

    Yes, we have a Challenge Grant and a McKinstry Award.  The Challenge Grant is meant for groups and the McKinstry Award is for individuals.  Click here for more information.

  • What is Delaware Book Fair and Authors Day?

    Delaware Book Fair and Authors Day is the big event on the Heritage Commission calendar.  It is held the second Saturday in November at the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village in Dover.  It is a day held to honor the work of over 600 Delaware writers.  It is a free event, the public is invited to meet authors and purchase books.  Click here for more information.

  • What new books are being prepared for release?

    The Commission is working to print two books, "Governor Pierre S. du Pont IV" (#5 in our Governors Series) and "The Perennial Apprentice: 60-Year Scrapbook of Delaware Architecture" by the late George F. Bennett  Please visit our Books page.

  • What is the Delaware Museum Association? 

    The DMA is an organization committed to support the efforts of the many museums and historical societies in Delaware.  The DMA sponsors instructional programs and behind-the-scenes tours for members and hosts an annual meeting.  Join the DMA by calling the Heritage Commission at 302-744-5077.  An individual membership is $10 per year and an Institutional membership is $20 or 0.001% of the annual budget.  A website is being created and will be available soon.   Please visit http://www.delawaremuseums.org
